  I cannot remember where I first heard about Favorite Poems Old and New, but I do recall the excitement when I finally found it somewhere, second-hand and affordable.. This sturdy volume of almost pages is a treasure.. Last night Miss 12 was wandering around aimlessly, so we grabbed the book and settled down on the verandah couch for half an hour of poetry.   Read the whole poem here, and check out more poems by Stevenson in his book A Child’s Garden of Verses. Some of these funny poems are a little long.

  In doing so, I learn a new word. While this problem is not merely in poetry, I notice it by far more in this medium than I do in books and short stories (which are more informal in themselves). Poetry is supposed to be beautiful. In my opinion, it is no longer. That is not to say all modern poets are bad. In fact, some of them are quite good.   Moved Permanently. nginx.
